The Consell de Mallorca has officially presented the 2025 Breeder’s Grand Prix, one of the most prominent events in the Balearic trotting calendar. The competition will take place on Sunday, October 12 (Hispanic Day) at the Son Pardo Hippodrome in Palma, reaffirming its status as a classic highlight for breeders, owners, and trotting enthusiasts.
The official presentation was held on Wednesday at Agroturismo Gallicant, attended by Pedro Bestard, Second Vice President and Minister of Environment, Rural Affairs and Sports; Gaspar Oliver, President of the Mallorca Horse Sports Institute; Juan Antonio Rosselló, President of the Balearic Trotting Federation; and Rafel Manera, President of Astrot.

During his speech, Bestard expressed his pride in “reviving and maintaining this award, which we brought back last year to restore its well-deserved relevance.”
He emphasised that the Grand Prix aims to promote the breeding of trotting horses within the community, encourage the birth of new foals, and strengthen equine production as part of Mallorca’s livestock sector.

With total prize money exceeding €84,000, the Breeder’s Grand Prix stands as one of the most prestigious and best-endowed competitions in the national trotting calendar. Following the presentation, breeders, horse owners, and representatives of the trotting and equestrian world enjoyed a friendly lunch at the same venue.
