The Council of Mallorca has announced a historic expansion of the La Victòria summer camp, one of the island’s most iconic youth activities. Starting in summer 2026, the camp will increase its capacity from 642 to 1,005 participants, nearly doubling its size to meet the high demand that exceeds available places every year.

Councillor Toni Fuster explained this during Thursday’s plenary session, detailing that the Consell Executiu recently approved the process that will allow both the number of spots and the program’s duration to be expanded.

Fuster emphasised that this is “a decisive step to strengthen an emblematic activity that has always received more applications than available places and that can now grow without losing its essence.” He added that “the camps are the best example of the kind of leisure we want for our young people: healthy, based on coexistence, away from daily noise and screens, focused on enjoyment, friendship, and sharing enriching activities.”

Until now, the La Victòria camps began at the end of June and ended during the first week of August. With the expansion, in summer 2026, the activities will also continue throughout August and until September 5, allowing more sessions and ensuring that a greater number of children and young people can enjoy this experience. Specifically, 15 weekly sessions are planned with 67 participants per session.

Located in Alcúdia, the La Victòria camp is one of Mallorca’s most established educational leisure programs. Every year, hundreds of young people take part in its activities, which combine community living, sports, nature, and education in values. The expansion will allow many more families to access an experience that promotes personal autonomy, teamwork, and respect for the natural environment.
