The Ministry of Education and Universities has completed improvement works at two schools in Pollença, reinforcing its commitment to providing modern, functional, and safe educational facilities that meet the needs of both students and teachers.

At CEIP Miquel Costa i Llobera, construction has been completed on a new dining hall with a catering kitchen — a long-awaited facility that provides the school with its first dedicated space for this purpose. Until now, meals were served in a multipurpose classroom.
The new single-storey building includes a dining area, kitchen, bathrooms, changing rooms, storage room, and service patio. The total investment amounted to €601,238.34.

Meanwhile, at CEIP Bocchoris, the school has completed a comprehensive renovation of its bathrooms, including the renewal of three restroom areas for students and staff, and the replacement of plumbing, fixtures, and carpentry. The project was carried out with a budget of €105,426.73.

These interventions are part of the Ministry’s broader investment plan to improve comfort, functionality, and energy efficiency in educational spaces across the municipality.

Additionally, two further projects are currently underway in Pollença’s secondary schools.
At the IES Clara Hammerl, waterproofing repairs and skylight replacements are being carried out, with an investment of €313,636.12. The work includes improvements to the roofs of the classroom block and administrative area, as well as upgrades to the rainwater drainage system of the sports pavilion. Completion is expected by December 2025.

At the IES Guillem Cifre de Colonya, the ongoing works include repairing roofs, porches, and patio structures, as well as demolishing deteriorated elements and replacing metal carpentry. This project, with a budget of €272,941.15, is also scheduled for completion in early December 2025.

Through these projects, the Ministry reaffirms its commitment to modern, safe, and sustainable learning environments that ensure the highest quality educational experience for students across the Balearic Islands.
