Tomorrow, Saturday, October 18, at 12:00 p.m., the Inca City Council will officially open the Autumn Fairs (Fires de Tardor) with the Fira de la Terra, marking the start of three weekends full of tradition, culture, and community spirit in the capital of the Raiguer region.
This year’s opening ceremony will feature performances by Sa Revetla d’Inca, the Les Postisses dance group, and the Bufaires and Xeremiers d’Inca, who will bring festive music to the streets.
On Saturday, 18 and Sunday, 19 October, Inca will host a wide variety of activities for all audiences. The Balearic folk tales (rondalles) will come to life with special settings and iconic characters such as King Jaume I in Plaça d’Espanya, the Eagle of the Romanial Flower in Plaça d’Orient, and new attractions like a talking tree and a giant carnivorous plant that will amaze both children and adults.

Inca Welcomes Autumn with the “First Inca Fair – Fair of the Earth”
Plaça de Mallorca will be the heart of the fair, offering workshops, family activities, craft stalls, and new features such as the first Traditional Music and Dance Showcase “Fires d’Inca”, organised in collaboration with the Sa Revetla Association. Other highlights include a glosadors (folk poets) gathering, a folk tale drawing contest with prize ceremony, and a concert by the group Do Natural on Sunday evening.
The Fira de la Terra will also include the Fireta Clau Natural, the Recycling Fair, the Emergency Services Gathering, and the Fair of Associations. This year’s edition will also feature the Inca Yokai Fest, now moved to the first weekend, with workshops, exhibitions, competitions, and food trucks on Miquel Duran Street and Plaça del Mercat.
Other activities include the first Mule Exhibition and a second-hand fashion show organised by Moda Re de Cáritas. As usual, there will be stalls with plants, flowers, and local produce, as well as children’s activities and a play area. Fairground rides will be located at the General Luque fairground.
Once again, the Fires d’Inca will feature collective and sustainable decorations. The associations Esment, Joan XXIII, and Aldaba will fill Plaça d’Espanya with stamped autumn leaves, while Santa Maria la Major will display a large iron heart filled with knitted hearts made by Punts amb Vida. The Es Garrover Foundation will also contribute artistic and social elements to the decoration of the Recycling Fair.
