To commemorate International Breast Cancer Day, the Island Council of Menorca hosted the public reading of a manifesto written by the Association of Women Affected by Breast Cancer of Menorca (ALBA), emphasising the importance of research, early detection, and equal access to healthcare.

During the event, representatives from ALBA, speaking on behalf of the Spanish Federation of Breast Cancer (FECMA), reminded attendees that October 19 is a day dedicated to recognising all women affected by breast cancer in its various stages. The manifesto called for stronger gender and health equality policies, the defence of a public, universal, and high-quality healthcare system, and the elimination of territorial disparities in diagnostic and treatment programs.
