The first edition of the Vinari Awards for Vermouths and Palo of Mallorca has recognised “Luis Adolfo y Lorenzo”, a black vermouth from La Vermutera-Brassclub Mallorca, as the best vermouth in the Balearic Islands. Crafted from Mallorcan Malvasia wine and infused with botanicals such as wormwood, grapefruit, anise, and cinnamon, this vermouth stands out for its robust body, balanced bitterness, and refined fruit notes. Its creators are Rafa Martín, Xisco Albertí, and Alejo Mira from La Vermutera, along with Mateu Pons from Monvinus.

In the Palo de Mallorca category, the gold medal went to Palo Moyà, a traditional liqueur made from cinchona bark and gentian root maceration, mixed with sugar, caramel, water, and agricultural alcohol. This century-old drink remains a hallmark of Mallorcan culture and is increasingly sought after as an ingredient in craft cocktails.
