The Spanish Government has announced a contribution of two million euros to reinforce its support for the Palestinian Authority. This marks Spain’s first step within the Urgent Coalition for Palestine, an initiative jointly launched with Saudi Arabia, Norway, and France, which now includes twelve member countries.
The coalition aims to ensure the financial stability of the Palestinian Authority, currently facing severe fiscal challenges due to the withholding of tax revenues.

Spain strengthens its political and financial support for the Palestinian Authority
The Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) will channel this contribution through the PEGASE EU mechanism, which supports the payment of civil servants’ salaries and pensions, the operation of hospitals in East Jerusalem, and assistance to the most vulnerable Palestinian families. The agreement was formalised on October 13 through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Spain and the Palestinian Authority.
Since 2008, Spain has provided over 115 million euros in similar aid. With this new contribution, the Spanish Government reaffirms its political and financial commitment to the Palestinian Authority, viewed as a key partner for peace and stability in the region.
