The Tourism Department of the Council of Mallorca has launched a new funding call worth €650,000, aimed at helping municipalities across the island modernise and enhance their local tourism services.
The initiative seeks to strengthen the role of municipal tourism offices while promoting better coexistence between residents and visitors, as well as advancing universal accessibility, technological innovation, and sustainable tourism management.
In addition to municipal councils, this year’s call also extends eligibility to associations of municipalities, foundations, and tourism consortia acting on behalf of local authorities.

The Council of Mallorca allocates €650,000 in grants to help municipalities improve their tourism services
Under the new system, each municipality will be informed of the grants awarded by January 2026, and projects must be completed by June 30, 2026. This early notification model will allow local governments more time for planning and implementation.
The head of the Island Directorate for Tourism Governance and Sustainability, Pedro Mas, emphasised the importance of the program:
“From the beginning of this term, our goal has been to highlight the efforts of Mallorca’s municipalities. By listening to their needs and supporting their initiatives, we can move together toward a more balanced and sustainable tourism model.”
With this funding initiative, the Council of Mallorca reaffirms its commitment to quality, sustainable tourism that benefits both residents and visitors alike.
