Ports of the Balearic Islands (PortsIB) has awarded a €2.27 million contract (VAT included) for the maintenance and conservation of buildings, services, and facilities at the publicly managed ports of Mallorca, Menorca, and Ibiza. The contract has an initial duration of twelve months and can be extended annually for up to five years.

The ports of the Balearic Islands awarded a €2.27 million contract for the maintenance of Mallorca, Menorca, and Ibiza’s public ports
The maintenance contract, divided into three lots, has been awarded to Urbia Ingeniería y Servicios S.A., the company that achieved the highest technical and economic score in the tender process.
- Lot 1 (Mallorca): €1,294,508.86
- Lot 2 (Menorca): €715,490.24
- Lot 3 (Ibiza): €260,614.84
The project aims to ensure the proper upkeep, safety, and operational efficiency of all port facilities under direct management by PortsIB. The scope of work includes preventive, corrective, predictive, and regulatory maintenance, the updating of infrastructure inventories, and the drafting of island-specific maintenance plans.
Tasks will include the conservation of administrative buildings, inspection of electrical, water, and sanitation systems, maintenance of public lighting and port furniture, and the improvement of signage and shared services. The plan also incorporates energy efficiency measures and environmental sustainability criteria across all actions.
Through this initiative, PortsIB reinforces its commitment to high-quality public management, enhancing service delivery to port users and ensuring the preservation of the Balearic Islands’ maritime infrastructure.
