The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Natural Environment, through the Directorate-General for Agri-Food Quality and Local Product, is organising the 1st Training Day on Agri-Food Marketing, titled “Marketing with Roots”.
The event will take place on Monday, 27 October, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the Francesc Quetglas Conference Space, and is aimed at farmers, producers, and food businesses interested in learning how to use digital marketing tools to boost their visibility and sales.

The main goal is to introduce digital marketing strategies to the agricultural sector, helping local producers improve the commercialisation of their products, strengthen their brand identity, and build a more direct connection with consumers.

Experts in communication, marketing, and market analysis will provide hands-on training on how to create a marketing plan step by step — from brand development to digital promotion and consumer engagement.

According to Joan Llabrés, Director-General for Agri-Food Quality and Local Product, “marketing is an essential tool to communicate the added value of local products and improve their competitiveness against imported goods.”
He added that the initiative “aims to professionalise the sector by integrating innovation and communication as key elements for strengthening the identity of Balearic agri-food brands.”

The programme includes sessions on the fundamentals of agri-food marketing, brand identity, consumer insight, and marketing plan design, as well as a networking breakfast featuring local products, reinforcing the commitment to proximity and sustainable food promotion.

This training session is part of the Local Product Promotion Plan 2025–2027, funded through the Sustainable Tourism Tax, and supports the ongoing efforts to enhance the competitiveness and sustainability of the Balearic Islands’ agri-food sector.
