The Official Gazette of the Balearic Islands has published the resolution that sets out the public call and rules for the Gold Medal of the Autonomous Community and the Ramon Llull Award for the year 2026. The recognitions will be granted during the institutional ceremony held as part of the Day of the Balearic Islands celebrations, chaired by the President.
The Gold Medal honours individuals or organisations whose personal or professional achievements have contributed significantly to the defence, promotion or progress of the institutions and interests of the Balearic Islands, particularly when their impact has reached beyond the region.

Call for nominations open for the 2026 Gold Medal of the Autonomous Community and the Ramon Llull Award
The Ramon Llull Award acknowledges those who have made outstanding contributions within the Balearic Islands in areas such as culture, sport, research, business, civic engagement, humanitarian work, teaching, law, or language promotion.
Any individual or legal entity may be nominated if their merit justifies it. Self-nominations, or proposals put forward by organisations whose governing bodies include the nominee, will not be accepted. Nor may the awards be granted to authorities currently holding office —except His Majesty the King— or to persons convicted by final court judgment.
Nominations must be submitted separately for each distinction, as they recognise different types of contributions. Public administrations, representative entities, and individuals or legal entities may propose candidates.
Submission and deadlines
Nominations may be submitted:
- Online, through the dedicated form available on the official website without the need for a digital certificate.
- Electronically, via the procedure on the E-Office with a valid digital signature.
- In person, for those not required to interact electronically with the administration, at the registry office in Palma (Passeig Sagrera, 2) or any authorised location.
The submission period opens tomorrow and will remain available until 15 December 2025.
