Ports de les Illes Balears (Ports IB) awards the new security and surveillance contracts for the ports in Mallorca and Menorca

On the island of Mallorca, the contract has been awarded to Ilunion Seguridad, S.A., for an amount of €801,502.10 (VAT included). On Menorca, the contractor is Transportes Blindados, S.A., with a budget of €1,020,809.41 (VAT included). Both tenders were processed under the Framework Agreement CC 2/2022 AM, funded from Ports IB’s budgets.

The contracted services cover the surveillance and custody of port facilities, access control and patrols, prevention of vandalism or intrusions, collaboration with the relevant authorities in case of incidents, and assistance to port users during operating hours. Also included are supplementary services for the maintenance of security systems and equipment installed at marinas and port buildings.

During the processing of both procurement files, the evaluation criteria defined in the administrative clauses were followed, which include the economic offer, service organisation and planning, staff training in user service and languages, and response capability to incidents or unforeseen situations.

The awards ensure the continuity of the security service in all Ports IB-managed ports and its adaptation to the current needs of each facility, reinforcing coordination with Ports IB’s new Control Centre, from which port operations, coastal cleaning, buoy fields and other maritime security-related services are supervised.

With this measure, Ports IB consolidates an integrated management model combining protection of the port domain, user service and technological modernisation, aligned with the entity’s ongoing efficiency and safety improvement objectives.
