The Island Council of Ibiza has hosted the presentation ceremony of the “Ibiza Family Moments” awards, an initiative led by the Council and managed by Foment del Turisme d’Eivissa, aimed at promoting family tourism as a cornerstone of Ibiza’s sustainable tourism model.

The event, presided over by Vicent Marí, President of the Island Council, and Juan Miguel Costa, Director of Tourism, included the screening of a promotional video, the awarding of plaques, and the recognition of businesses, institutions and municipalities that are part of the programme.

Among the recognised accommodations are leading family-friendly and sustainable hotels such as Gran Palladium White Island Resort & Spa, Aguas de Ibiza Grand Luxe Hotel, Invisa Club Cala Blanca, and Insotel Fenicia Prestige Suites & Spa, among others.

In the restaurant category, Can Tothom and Bam-Bu-Ku received special mention for their family-oriented gastronomy, combining local produce with creative and inclusive dining experiences.

Several leisure and cultural companies were also awarded, including Cova de Can Marçà, Bibopark, and Ibizaloe, for offering educational and nature-based experiences designed for families.

The municipalities of Sant Josep, Eivissa, Sant Antoni and Santa Eulària were also acknowledged for their collaboration and support of the initiative, reinforcing the cooperation between public and private sectors.

President Vicent Marí emphasised that “‘Ibiza Family Moments’ is more than a tourism label — it’s a firm commitment to recover and strengthen a key segment of our industry: family tourism.” He added that families are “the historical driving force of our tourism, visitors who appreciate quality, authenticity, and respect for the island’s environment and culture.”

Launched in 2016 by the Santa Eulària des Riu Town Council, the Ibiza Family Moments label expanded to the entire island in 2024, with the collaboration of all five municipalities and the Island Council.

The certification distinguishes hotels, restaurants, leisure companies and public spaces that meet high standards of quality, safety and comfort, strengthening Ibiza’s image as a welcoming, family-friendly and sustainable destination.

Ibiza offers a wide range of family-oriented experiences, from nature trails and boat trips to water sports, hiking, cycling, and cultural visits to landmarks such as Dalt Vila, the Archaeological Museum and the Ethnographic Museum. Over 40 beaches are specially equipped for families, many holding Blue Flag status and the Smoke-Free Beach seal.

President Marí concluded: “Families embody a value we must protect. Whenever the public and private sectors work together, Ibiza thrives — that is the path to a welcoming, respectful and high-quality tourism model.”
