The Regional Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Natural Environment has issued precautionary measures to prevent the arrival and spread of Contagious Nodular Dermatosis (CND) in the Balearic Islands. The resolution, published today in the Official Gazette of the Balearic Islands, will be effective until November 30, with the option to extend if needed.

Furthermore, all livestock transport vehicles entering or leaving the Balearics must undergo mandatory disinsection within 24 hours of movement, verified through veterinary certification. Additional measures include mandatory quarantine for certain livestock and the temporary suspension of the Equine Movement Card (TME) for horses entering or exiting the islands.
Fernández highlighted that these actions are essential to protect animal health and to support a sector that is vital to the Balearic economy.
