The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Natural Environment has initiated three sanctioning procedures against companies engaging in unauthorised commercial activities within the Ses Salines Natural Park of Ibiza and Formentera. The fines, exceeding €70,000, are related to maritime transport operations involving passenger drop-offs in ecologically sensitive areas such as Pas des Trucadors, Ses Illetes, and S’Espalmador.

These activities are considered serious violations under Law 5/2005 on the conservation of environmentally significant areas. “We will not tolerate any activity that threatens the natural values of the Ses Salines Park,” stated Anna Torres, Director General of Natural Environment and Forest Management.

The ministry has intensified surveillance efforts in protected natural areas to enforce regulations and promote responsible environmental stewardship. These actions are aligned with the Sustainability Pact of the Balearic Islands, which seeks to balance tourism with nature conservation and reinforce environmental protection through robust legislation.
