The Institute of Cultural Industries of the Balearic Islands (ICIB) has launched a new training program aimed at breaking down barriers to accessing regional culture. This free four-session course, held at Ca n’Oleo, is designed for professionals in the cultural sector and explores tools for creating fully inclusive experiences. The program covers the six artistic disciplines within the ICIB’s scope: performing arts, visual arts, audiovisual, podcasting, music, and publishing.
Participants will not only gain an understanding of key concepts related to cultural accessibility but will also learn practical solutions tailored to each discipline. The course includes the analysis of real case studies and the development of strategies that can be applied to participants’ own projects.

ICIB Launches Training Program to Make Balearic Culture Fully Accessible
The training is led by Miguel Ángel Font Bisier, a filmmaker and researcher specialising in inclusion, and Vicente Alcoy Sapiña, a marketing and communication expert who will share his personal experience living with retinitis pigmentosa, a condition that affects vision.
“It’s essential to understand and implement inclusive measures so that everyone can actively engage with culture, whether as creators or audiences,” said Diana de la Cuadra, managing director of the ICIB. She also highlighted that the guide to be published at the end of the course will be crucial for cultural creators and producers in the Balearic Islands to integrate accessibility at the core of their projects.
