The Consell de Mallorca has underscored its cultural vision this Wednesday at the World Travel Market (WTM) in London by presenting “Noves Presències,” a project that highlights the island’s emerging artistic talent on an international platform. The initiative positions Mallorca as a forward-thinking, creative destination that supports new generations of artists.

The exhibition linked to the project, titled “New Presences. Within and Beyond the Frame,” opened yesterday at the renowned Oxo Gallery, where it will be on display throughout the week. This effort brings visibility to seven young creators from Mallorca, selected by the Balearic Association of Art Curators and Critics (ACCAIB).

The featured artists are Joan Bonne Maison, Elena Covas López, Marta Crespí, Marga Estelrich, Rebeca Morey Pérez, Nicole Scarpa, and Joan Vidal Monserrat, under the curatorship of Beatriz Escudero.

Antònia Roca, Vice President of the Consell and Councillor for Culture and Heritage, celebrated the project’s reception in London:

“Showcasing ‘Noves Presències’ at the WTM and opening the exhibition at Oxo Gallery is an extraordinary opportunity to share Mallorca’s emerging talent with the world. The public response reaffirms culture’s key role in shaping a meaningful and future-oriented destination.”

Roca further noted how initiatives like this help connect with audiences seeking authentic and creative experiences tied to the local territory.

The program, revived last May after years of inactivity, was initially launched at the Centre Cultural La Misericòrdia and offered a diverse, innovative, and critical take on contemporary art coming from Mallorca—now brought to the international stage through the WTM.
