On November 11, the ParcBit Auditorium will host the 9th edition of the Language Promotion Conference, organised by the Balearic Institute of Studies (IEB). This year’s event will focus on Catalan as a valuable resource that reinforces business identity, competitiveness, and customer relations.

Running from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., the conference will gather professionals to share best practices in linguistic management across the commercial and corporate sectors. The program includes presentations by experts in social responsibility and language policy from institutions such as the Government of Catalonia, the Provincial Council of Valencia, and the non-profit Plataforma per la Llengua. Speakers from the Basque Country and Galicia will also present initiatives using Basque and Galician in business environments.

A roundtable discussion featuring Balearic companies like Set Hotels, Melicotó, and Agromart will explore practical examples of multilingual communication and Catalan usage in corporate branding. The session will be moderated by journalist Cristina Bugallo.

The event targets linguistic promotion officers, advisors, and businesses interested in language normalisation, though it is open to the public. Participants can attend either in person or online and will receive attendance certificates.

Llorenç Perelló, director of the IEB, emphasised that the event aims to «strengthen the presence of Catalan in professional settings, highlighting its role as a unique and socially cohesive element in business communication».
