On November 12, the Son Pardo Hippodrome will host a special sports day to celebrate the International Day of Older Persons. The event will bring together 800 participants from thirteen municipalities across the island, who will take part in various physical and social activities.

The program will include three sports stations: dance, multi-training circuits, and stretching and recovery sessions. Attendees will also have the chance to watch trot races taking place on the same day. All activities are part of the “Mou-te amb salut!” active ageing program, which promotes regular physical exercise for older adults across Mallorca’s towns.

Pedro Bestard, the island’s Sports official, highlighted that the event is «an opportunity to celebrate the vitality and community spirit of our older citizens, in a day filled with good humour and fellowship». The day will end with a communal meal and live music for a final dance.

The “Mou-te amb salut!” program continues to grow, with 1,860 participants across 93 groups in 50 municipalities for the 2024/25 season, consolidating its role in promoting physical and social well-being among older adults in Mallorca.
