The Mallorca Council has taken part in the solidarity campaign “Donate Blood 2025: License to Save Lives,” organised by the Blood and Tissue Bank of the Balearic Islands. This morning, the institution’s Physical Activity and Health Unit welcomed the mobile donation laboratory at its General Riera offices, where 20 blood donations were collected.
The event was attended by the Second Vice President and Minister for Environment, Rural Affairs, and Sports, Pedro Bestard, who emphasised the value of such initiatives: “Blood donation saves lives. Anyone may need a transfusion at some point — we should not wait for that moment to show solidarity.”

Mallorca Council Joins the “Donate Blood 2025: License to Save Lives” Campaign
According to the Blood Bank, a single donation can save up to three lives, and around 200 donations are needed every day across the Balearic Islands.
This marks the second collaboration between the Mallorca Council and the Blood and Tissue Bank, and both institutions plan to continue this partnership in future years to promote public participation and awareness around blood donation.
