The Higher Conservatory of Music of the Balearic Islands (CSMIB), under the Ministry of Education and Universities, begins the 2025–2026 academic year with the First Stage of its two major ensembles: the Big Band and the Symphony Orchestra.
This first stage is part of a series of three scheduled throughout the year, designed to give students real stage experiences that enrich their training and enhance their professional and artistic skills. The stage model is one of the cornerstones of the CSMIB’s educational approach, founded on interpretative excellence, teamwork, and value-based education.

The Higher Conservatory of Music of the Balearic Islands opens the academic year with the First Stage of the Big Band and Symphony Orchestra
On Friday, 14 November, at 8:00 p.m., the Vocal Jazz Ensemble and the CSMIB Big Band will perform at the Conservatory’s Auditorium, conducted by Ana Finger and Lluc Casares, respectively. The programme will feature works by Thelonious Monk, Cole Porter, and John Coltrane, among others.

On Saturday, 15 November, also at 8:00 p.m., the CSMIB Symphony Orchestra will take the stage under the direction of Beatriz Fernández Aucejo, performing music by Verdi, Rodrigo, Turina, Ravel, and Gabriela Ortiz.
