The Teatre Principal of Inca hosted the 2025 Dijous Bo Awards ceremony, which recognises individuals, organisations and institutions that have made significant contributions to the city’s progress and social well-being.
Mayor Virgilio Moreno highlighted that “once again, these awards celebrate what it means to be from Inca. Today, we honour our identity and pay tribute to those who have helped make our city what it is. This isn’t just about giving awards; it’s about renewing our shared commitment to caring for what defines us and being proud of who we are.”
The Councillor for Culture, Alice Weber, added that “the sense of community that unites all citizens of Inca is precisely what inspires these awards, which celebrate values such as tradition, perseverance, solidarity, commitment, and love for our land.”
This year’s recipients were the Revetlers del Puig d’Inca, chef Andreu Genestra, the Beat Ramon Llull School, and the Colla de Geganters d’Inca. During the event, video tributes were shown to highlight their achievements and the values that earned them this distinction.

Inca honours the Revetlers del Puig d’Inca, Andreu Genestra, the Beat Ramon Llull School and the Colla de Geganters with the 2025 Dijous Bo Awards
The Revetlers del Puig d’Inca Cultural Association was recognised for its artistic and social contribution. The group plays an active role in local festivities, promotes traditional Mallorcan music and dance, and organises educational activities both inside and outside the islands. Over the years, they have become true ambassadors of Inca’s folklore, preserving intangible heritage and strengthening the town’s cultural identity.
The Beat Ramon Llull School was honoured for its centenary of continuous educational activity, from 1925 to the present day. The institution has educated nearly 30,000 students, distinguished by its strong pedagogical and social commitment. It remains the only school outside Palma to have continuously offered all educational levels and has promoted cultural, scientific, and social initiatives, earning the ISO 9001 Quality Certification.
The Colla de Geganters d’Inca, celebrating its 30th anniversary, was awarded for its dedication to preserving intangible cultural heritage and keeping alive one of Inca’s most cherished traditions. The group has fostered intergenerational participation and promoted Inca’s cultural identity at gatherings across Mallorca and beyond.
Finally, renowned chef Andreu Genestra, born in Inca, received the Dijous Bo 2025 Award for his outstanding career and commitment to his roots. His culinary philosophy, based on respect, passion, and hard work, has earned him international acclaim and serves as an inspiration for young chefs.
The Dijous Bo Awards are based on public nominations, which are reviewed by the Municipal Council of Culture, then approved by the Culture Commission and finally ratified by the City Council plenary session.
