The Consell d’Eivissa has completed its public consultation phase aimed at creating a comprehensive and sustainable tourism strategy for the island. Almost 3,000 participants have contributed their perspectives and proposals on what the future of Ibiza’s tourism should look like.
Led by the Tourism Promotion Department with technical support from THR, Eurecat and Ogilvy, the process has included open consultations as well as in-person and online workshops involving companies, workers, associations and visitors. The goal is to gather a wide range of viewpoints that reflect the diversity of the territory and the shared ambition to build a more balanced tourism model.

Nearly 3,000 people take part in shaping Ibiza’s new tourism model
The aim is to develop a shared vision that harmonises economic prosperity, environmental and cultural preservation, and the well-being of residents, while maintaining Ibiza’s competitiveness as a top-tier destination.
The Council will incorporate the conclusions of this consultation into the technical analysis that will determine the strategic guidelines of the new tourism policy. This framework will support the repositioning of the Ibiza brand and the creation of a more advanced and participatory governance model in line with European sustainability standards.
The project will run until 2027, marking a significant step forward in planning the island’s tourism future and involving the local community in decisions affecting its main economic engine.
