Institutions and Mallorca’s retail associations, together with Afedeco and Pimeco, have launched the 3rd edition of the Christmas Shop Window Contest “Nativity Special”, an initiative aimed at all island businesses to promote local commerce, strengthen traditional Christmas customs and bring festive atmosphere to Mallorca’s towns during the holiday season.
During the presentation, President Llorenç Galmés emphasised that this initiative represents “a special boost for local commerce during a key period for businesses”. This third edition focuses on Nativity scenes, one of the most emblematic Christmas symbols, inviting shops to create displays that evoke tradition, culture and the Christmas values that shape Mallorcan identity.

Institutions and retail associations launch the 3rd Christmas Shop Window Contest “Nativity Special” to boost festive spirit across the island
The judging criteria will prioritise sustainable materials, creativity, lighting, originality and the ability to convey emotion and Mallorcan essence to those passing by.
The event was attended by President Llorenç Galmés; the head of Economic Promotion and Local Development, Pilar Amate; Pimeco president Carolina Domingo, and Afedeco president Joana Manresa.
Galmés highlighted that the contest “has become a reference initiative in Mallorca’s Christmas season thanks to its ability to involve shopkeepers and citizens, generate economic activity, beautify towns and preserve the cultural traditions of the island”.
Pilar Amate added that the project “helps keep Mallorcan Christmas customs alive while supporting small local businesses”.

Registration is open from 14 November to 12 December on concursodescaparatesdenavidad.com, and public voting will run from 13 to 21 December.
All displays must remain decorated for the entire exhibition period.
