The budget for 2026 reaches €761.7 million, representing a 10% increase compared to the previous year. More than half of the total —€426.6 million— is allocated to social policies, which continue to grow by 9% over 2025.
President Llorenç Galmés highlights that the institution achieves a historic budget record for the third consecutive year and notes that these accounts address the island’s key challenges, such as mobility, tourism, and environmental protection.
The Social Welfare area receives the largest increase, reaching €351 million, up €34 million from last year. Funding also rises for Family, Equality and Diversity; Youth; and Sociocultural Promotion programmes.

The Department of Territory, Mobility and Infrastructure will have €133.8 million for new road projects, improvements, and ITV services. The Environment Department will reach €54 million, boosted significantly by European funds.
Culture and Heritage will receive €39.5 million, Tourism €20.6 million, and the Presidency Department €38 million to strengthen equality services, youth programmes, and sociocultural activities.
The Finance, Innovation and Public Administration Department will rise to €81.1 million, with major investments for the Fire Service and for strategic and modernisation projects. Economic Promotion and Local Development will reach €43.4 million, with resources for municipal works, energy transition initiatives, and support for local commerce.
