A coordinated operation between the Directorate-General for Public Health and SEPRONA officers from the Civil Guard resulted in the seizure of 20 tons of seafood products deemed unfit for human consumption. Following the inspection, Public Health officials ordered the immediate immobilisation of all the products to prevent them from reaching consumers. A sanctioning procedure has also been initiated against the company for two very serious breaches of public health and consumer protection regulations, with a proposed fine of €90,000.
