The Serra de Tramuntana will receive the highest budget in its history in 2026

The Serra de Tramuntana will receive €5,377,000 in 2026, the largest budget ever allocated since the creation of the Consortium responsible for its preservation. This represents a 30.45% increase compared to the previous year and more than double the amount allocated in 2023, reinforcing the commitment to protect this cultural landscape designated as a World Heritage Site.

The Serra de Tramuntana Directorate reports the biggest budgetary increase within the Department of the Presidency. The most notable rise concerns grants aimed at restoring ethnological heritage, maintaining the landscape, and supporting agricultural and maritime activities, nearly doubling from €1,480,000 to €2,950,000.

For the first time, €1,500,000 will be allocated to private individuals, a 114% increase. Support for municipalities also rises significantly, reaching €550,000 (+57%), while aid for agricultural holdings climbs to €650,000 (+261%). In addition, €675,000 will go to cooperatives and guilds, and €100,000 to land-stewardship entities.

The Council will also strengthen cultural, sports, and educational programmes to promote the values of the Serra, with a planned investment of €772,000 in 2026.
