The Higher Conservatory of Music of the Balearic Islands hosted the opening event of the conference “Aulas que acogen: emotion, inclusion and neurodevelopment”, organised by the Educational Community Inclusion Service (SICE). The session brought together more than 550 educational guidance professionals, focusing on new approaches to language assessment and the reinforcement of executive functions in schools.
The programme began with a presentation by Eva Aguilar Mediavilla, PhD in psychology and speech therapy, who offered a detailed look into language assessment and the interpretation of the CELF-V. After a break, Antònia Enseñat Cantallops, a neuropsychology expert, explored how to apply neuropsychological principles in everyday classroom practice to strengthen students’ executive functions.

Over 550 Guidance Professionals Attend the Opening Session of “Aulas que acogen” on Emotion, Inclusion and Neurodevelopment
The session took place from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and attendees had the opportunity to ask questions and discuss the topics directly with the speakers. Professionals from Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera followed the event via livestream.
The Conservatory will again host the event on 28 and 29 November, when the second part of the conference will address neuroeducation and ADHD, the role of time, interest and affection in teaching, differentiation and self-regulation, personalised learning, myths and pathways in mathematics learning, inclusion in vocational training, and language disorders in the classroom.
Over the past two years, the regional Department of Education has strengthened its commitment to educational guidance and attention to diversity by adding 74 new guidance professionals and ensuring that all two-line schools have a full-time counsellor. Single-line and small rural schools receive this support two or three days per week.
