With the holiday season approaching, the Institute of Balearic Studies has reintroduced its campaign “Christmas Menus, also in Catalan.” The aim is to encourage restaurants across the Balearic Islands to include Catalan-language festive menus, strengthening the presence of the language within the hospitality sector.

To support the initiative, the IEB is once again providing a free translation service for menus, as well as linguistic guidance upon request. The organisation has also prepared sample menu proposals and a detailed gastronomic vocabulary to help restaurants write their Christmas menus in Catalan.

The campaign will be shared with business associations and sector-related organisations to broaden its reach. All materials are also available through social media and the language-promotion website.
IEB director Llorenç Perelló expressed his hopes that the campaign will once again receive strong support and help promote the use of Catalan in Christmas restaurant menus.
