Sant Ferran Sports Centre Launches a New Physical Activity Programme for Cancer Patients
Bestard emphasised the commitment of the Consell to promoting physical activity as a preventive and therapeutic tool for different types of patients, including those with cancer. He highlighted the importance of advancing towards a public health model where exercise is prescribed by doctors in the same way as medication.
The programme provides specialist-supervised sessions designed to improve patients’ wellbeing, including cardiovascular conditioning, posture correction, strength recovery and reduction of risk factors such as osteoporosis or cardiovascular disease, which may be aggravated during cancer treatments.
Those wishing to join the programme can contact the AECC social worker, Yanina Paglioni, either directly or through Yes With Cancer, via the Infocáncer helpline 900 100 036 or the email yanina.paglioni@contraelcancer.es.
