On November 25, Raixa hosted a commemorative event in memory of the 41 women who have been killed due to gender-based violence in Mallorca since 2003. The gathering brought together officials, relatives and members of the public who wished to pay tribute.

Afterwards, the president of the Consell, Llorenç Galmés, accompanied by other institutional representatives, placed a floral offering before the memorial located in the garden area. Attendees also added olive branches to the stones that form the monument, a gesture intended to honour the women and express society’s rejection of such violence.

In his remarks, Galmés highlighted the need to preserve the memory of each victim and reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to combat gender-based violence. He stressed that each name represents a life cut short and a loss that cannot be repaired.

The memorial, situated in the eastern garden, consists of individual pieces engraved with the names and dates of the 41 women. The installation aims to keep their stories present and to foster awareness and social responsibility in the fight against gender violence.
