The city of Inca has officially launched the exhibition “Grans clàssics del Còmic” at Cas Metge Cifre, the modernist building that will house the future Comic Museum of Mallorca. The exhibition showcases original artwork from the collection of Jaume Vaquer, offering visitors a journey through influential authors and works that have shaped the history of international comics. It is curated by Jorge Isaurralde “Tatum” and the team at Go Mas Go Projectes i Produccions.
This initiative is part of the CòmicNostrum International Comic Festival and forms the foundation of a broader museum project promoted through an agreement between the Inca City Council, the Comic Cluster of the Balearic Islands and Colonya Caixa Pollença. The mission is to establish the upcoming museum as a leading centre for preservation, research and promotion of comics and graphic storytelling.

Inca Opens “Great Classics of Comics” and Takes Its First Major Step Toward Mallorca’s Future Comic Museum
Mayor Virgilio Moreno emphasised that the exhibition «represents just a small sample of the potential of the museum project. Comics are culture, heritage and a shared visual memory.» He highlighted that the future museum aims to position Inca on the national comic scene while offering spaces that inspire, educate and connect with new forms of artistic expression.
“Grans clàssics del Còmic” provides a preview of works that could eventually form part of the museum’s permanent collection. The exhibition will remain open until January 10, 2026, on Thursdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Fridays from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The opening event featured participation from cultural and institutional representatives, including Jaume Vaquer; Biel Bauzà of Fundació Guillem Cifre; Diana de la Cuadra from the Balearic Institute of Cultural Industries; and Almudena Hernández de la Torre from Spain’s Ministry of Culture. The Ministry’s presence underlines the national commitment to supporting the museum project, particularly regarding the creation of an artist residency program focused on comics and graphic narratives.
