Between 1 and 15 December, the Gynaecology Department at Manacor Hospital will operate night and afternoon on-call shifts (from 3 p.m. to 8 a.m.) with one fewer specialist than usual. This temporary adjustment is the result of three unexpected staff losses within the medical team.
Despite this reduction, hospital officials stress that gynaecological care for women in the Llevant health district remains fully guaranteed, maintaining the same safety standards and quality of care. Emergency cases will continue to be treated as normal; only those that can safely be postponed will be redirected to other hospitals, in coordination with SAMU061 and gynaecology teams at other centres.

Manacor Hospital to operate with a temporarily reduced on-call gynaecology team for two weeks
Under normal circumstances, the hospital has eleven gynaecologists covering the department’s on-call roster throughout the year. During these two weeks, however, the number drops to eight due to one request for leave and two temporary disability absences.
Manacor Hospital and the regional health service are actively working to recruit additional specialists to strengthen the gynaecology team as soon as possible.
