Architectural project for the new Formentera Health Centre awarded

The Health Service of the Balearic Islands has awarded the contract for the architectural design and technical management of the renovation and expansion works of the Formentera Health Centre, with a total investment of €177,416.25 (VAT included).

The project is part of the 2024–2027 Health Investment Plan, which allocates €435 million to improve healthcare infrastructure over the next four years. Within this framework, €3 million will be invested in building the new centre, which will be located on the same site as the Formentera Hospital and connected to it internally.

A modern and expanded facility

The preliminary architectural plan includes 500 m² of new construction and 250 m² of renovated space, providing fifteen consulting rooms for:

  • Family and community medicine
  • Nursing
  • Paediatrics
  • Obstetric-gynaecological nursing
  • Social work
  • Oral health

The centre will also include a blood extraction room, storage area, admissions desk and staff facilities.

At present, the Formentera Health Centre serves 10,903 registered health cards, but the extension has been designed to accommodate the expected population growth in the coming years.
