The regional education department has initiated the tender process for the second phase of the expansion of IES Damià Huguet, located in Campos. The project has a base budget of over €3.1 million and an estimated execution period of 12 months, with work expected to begin in the second quarter of 2026 and conclude in the second quarter of 2027.

The expansion aims to increase the school’s capacity through the construction of 12 new classrooms and several additional spaces designed to enhance the centre’s functionality and accessibility. The plan includes building a new two-storey facility connected to the main building via a covered walkway and a ground-floor porch, ensuring a fully accessible route throughout the complex thanks to the inclusion of an elevator.

The first phase, already completed, involved upgrading existing infrastructures and adapting several areas of the school. With this second phase, the education authorities reinforce their commitment to improving educational facilities and addressing the needs of the growing school community in Campos.
