The Balearic Islands’ Department of Education and Universities has approved, within the framework of the Education Sector Committee, the first call for recognising the second stage of the professional career system for teaching staff.

This decision will benefit 7,722 education professionals — including permanent staff, interim teachers, inspectors and other personnel — who qualify for the second level and will receive an annual salary increase of €360. The measure will take effect in 2026 and will entail a yearly cost of €3.3 million, including Social Security contributions.

With this approval, the Department reiterates its commitment to supporting teachers and fulfilling the agreements established by the regional government.

The session also addressed the proposal for the 2025 Public Employment Offer, which applies to non-university teaching bodies within the autonomous community.

These steps represent meaningful progress in recognising the work carried out by educators and in improving their working conditions.
