The city of Ibiza (Eivissa) will host a new edition of the Cursa de s’Indiot on Sunday, 14 December, one of the island’s most long-standing cycling events, which has already attracted more than 210 registered participants across adult and youth categories.

The event was officially presented by Salvador Losa, Island Councillor for Presidency, Finance, Economic Management and Sports, together with Rubén Sousa, Councillor for Tourism of Ibiza Town Council, Javier Bonet, Island Director of Sports, and Juanjo Serra, representative of the organising company Blue Challenge.

During the presentation, the Sports Councillor highlighted that the race is organised entirely by the Ibiza Island Council, with the collaboration of the Ibiza Town Council, as the urban circuit runs through some of the city’s main streets, showcasing its historical heritage. He also emphasised the event’s long tradition, with more than 40 editions, making it one of the most popular and eagerly awaited cycling races on the island.

Rubén Sousa stressed the strong roots of the race in Ibiza Town, noting that it has been part of the city’s festive and sporting calendar for decades, and encouraged residents and visitors alike to enjoy the event either as participants or spectators.

The race will take place on a nine-lap urban circuit, with each lap measuring nearly 5 kilometres, and will run from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm, starting and finishing on Campanitx Street, in front of the Can Misses Stadium.

The programme includes a competitive race with a maximum of 175 places and a total distance of approximately 42 kilometres for riders aged 15 and over, as well as a mini race, which has set a new participation record with over 50 cyclists, aimed at children under 15 and participants with reduced mobility or special needs.

Registration is free of charge and open until 11 December at 11:59 pm, with limited places allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
