Regional public transport will remain free of charge in 2026 for users holding a Single or Intermodal Travel Card, ensuring zero-cost access to intercity buses, as well as to Mallorca’s train and metro services.
The decision confirms the continuation of the 100% fare discount, meaning that journeys made using eligible travel cards will have a fare of zero euros, extending a policy that has been in place continuously since 2023.
This measure follows the entry into force of Spain’s Sustainable Mobility Act (Law 9/2025), which provides specific funding to support free public transport in the Balearic Islands during 2026. These national funds complement regional resources allocated to maintain the fare-free system.

Free regional public transport to continue throughout 2026
The agreement strengthens long-term sustainable mobility policies and builds on the recent allocation of €63 million in state funding for public transport subsidies in the Balearic Islands for 2025, ensuring financial stability for the network.
By maintaining free access to public transport, the region reinforces its commitment to efficient, accessible and environmentally friendly mobility, encouraging public transport use and helping to reduce reliance on private vehicles.
