The Department of Environment, Rural Affairs and Sports has completed the renovation and restoration works at the Na Miranda viewpoint, located in the Sa Dragonera Natural Park. The project has focused on recovering the viewing platform, which offers outstanding panoramic views of the Freu de sa Dragonera and the coastline of Sant Elm.
The works included the demolition of a deteriorated slab that posed a risk of collapse, as well as the adjustment of levels and paving on the viewpoint terrace, covering an area of approximately 70 square metres.

Renovation works completed at the Na Miranda viewpoint in Sa Dragonera
The Councillor for Environment, Rural Affairs and Sports, Pedro Bestard, visited the site after the completion of the works and highlighted that visitors can once again enjoy this viewpoint, which had been closed for more than three years due to safety concerns. He also praised the work carried out by the department’s teams, who used traditional dry-stone techniques for the restoration.
The project had a total budget of €10,100 and was carried out by in-house staff from the Works and Maintenance Unit. The works took around six months to complete, with several interruptions mainly caused by adverse weather conditions that often make access to Sa Dragonera difficult, particularly during the winter months.
Traditional techniques and local materials were used to ensure that the restored structure blends seamlessly into the natural landscape. The works were supervised by architect Matías Togores Piquer and technical architect Alexandre Oliver Venegas.
The walk to the Na Miranda viewpoint is one of the most popular signposted routes in the park, thanks to its easy access from the jetty and the spectacular views it offers. It is the island’s only circular route, measuring 1.1 kilometres in length and taking approximately 30 minutes to complete. Along the way, visitors can see former cultivated areas around Cala en Lledó, making it an ideal short excursion for families, especially during the warmer months.
