Ca n’Oleo’s courtyard reopens as a creative space through a new edition of the “Art al Pati” program, featuring an installation by artist Guillem Crespí Alemany, centred on the figure of the scorpionfish. The work will remain on display until February 28, 2026.

The initiative, promoted by the Directorate-General for Culture, turns the courtyard into a dynamic environment for artistic experimentation, encouraging interaction between heritage, creativity, and the public. It aims to bring contemporary art closer to citizens and to give new life to a historic architectural setting.

Ca n’Oleo once again opens its courtyard to contemporary creation with a new “Art al Pati” installation

The project presents installations designed to converse with the courtyard’s structure and to invite visitors to experience the space through fresh, unexpected viewpoints. In this edition, Crespí showcases several large-scale figures framed by iron elements, inspired by the scorpionfish—a creature that has long played a symbolic role in his artistic universe. The artist explains that its powerful form and distinctive features allow him to explore shape, light, and gesture directly and expressively.

Born in Santa Margalida in 1963, Crespí has been active in the art scene since the mid-1990s, participating in numerous solo and group exhibitions. His trajectory spans from depictions of everyday objects to more symbolic and abstract compositions, always with an interest in exploring human experience through art.

Recognised as a pioneer of the movement known as “Figurative Harmony,” he blends abstraction with identifiable figures, drawing influence from artists such as Jackson Pollock and Anselm Kiefer. His work, marked by layered textures and strong visual impact, has earned critical attention for bridging Mallorcan artistic traditions with global contemporary trends.
