The island’s administration has opened the bidding process for the acquisition of two additional mobile units for vehicle inspections, aiming to enhance the service and shorten waiting times. The tender, published on the Public Sector Procurement Platform, includes an initial budget of €1.46 million — excluding taxes — and covers a one-year contract with the option for extension.

These new mobile units will significantly expand inspection capacity, with an estimated 30,000 checks expected once they are operational. Besides supporting the existing service, the units will take on specific types of inspections — including periodic reviews, pre-registration checks, and duplicate-related procedures — helping reduce the workload at the Santa Gertrudis station, especially during peak periods.

With this initiative, the island authorities reinforce their commitment to road safety, improved public services, and a more efficient response to citizens’ needs by aligning resources with the actual demands of Ibiza’s vehicle fleet.

Companies interested in participating can submit their bids electronically until January 12, 2026, through the Public Sector Procurement Platform, where all documentation related to the procedure is available.
