Inca’s Municipal Training Centre has concluded the mixed program “Inca Construeix,” aimed at young people under 30 and designed to combine theoretical learning with paid work experience. The initiative began on December 3, 2024, and lasted twelve months, during which participants were hired under a training contract with the local council.

Councillor for Training Xisca Barceló emphasised that the project provides “real opportunities” for young residents, giving them access to professional qualifications while allowing them to gain hands-on experience that will support their future employment prospects. She also highlighted the need to continue promoting programs that blend classroom instruction with practical activity.

To mark the end of the project, participants visited an active construction site managed by the company Ramon Construccions. The field trip allowed them to observe real-world applications of what they had learned and to understand working dynamics within the construction sector—an enriching conclusion to a full year of training.

Over the course of the program, the students obtained the professional certificate EOCB0208, focused on auxiliary masonry operations, and completed additional specialised training, including instruction in the traditional technique of dry-stone construction.

Their work contributed to improving and renewing various public spaces in Inca, with interventions that directly benefited the municipality.

The project was funded by the Balearic Islands Employment Service (SOIB), with the collaboration of the State Public Employment Service (SEPE) and co-financing from the European Social Fund FSE+.
