Ibiza gives initial approval to the 2026 budget, reaching 179.8 million euros
Financial aid and transfers rose to €47.3 million, covering the launch of the new bus contract, as well as the continuation of free public transport (15.5 million). Support for students, families and social programmes also increases, with 1 million euros for Ibiza students and 7 million euros for social support initiatives.
In terms of funding, the Balearic Government contributes a record amount of over 110 million euros, with an additional 1.4 million from the State based on previous-year adjustments. A potential €17.37-million loan is also foreseen, although this year borrowing was ultimately unnecessary thanks to reserve funds and other financial mechanisms.
