The Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted a meeting between the Spanish foreign minister and Andorra’s foreign minister, Imma Tor, during which Spain renewed its commitment to supporting Andorra’s efforts to strengthen ties with the European Union. This cooperation comes at a time when Andorra is modernising its economic model and aligning its immigration framework with EU standards.
Both ministers reviewed the excellent bilateral relationship that unites the two countries, highlighted in recent crises such as last summer’s wildfires and Spain’s dispatch of technical experts to help Andorra manage outbreaks of African swine fever.

The meeting also served to discuss key issues concerning relations between Andorra and the EU, including progress made by the joint working group on migration matters, developments linked to the Association Agreement, advances in the Border Management Agreement, cross-border cooperation and preparations for the implementation of the EU’s Entry Exit System (EES).
On foreign policy, Spain and Andorra share very similar perspectives on global matters such as the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the defence of multilateralism and the decision adopted in September 2025 regarding the recognition of Palestine.
