The Cultural Centre la Misericòrdia was filled with solidarity this Saturday during a blood donation event organised by the Consell de Mallorca in collaboration with the Blood and Tissue Bank of the Balearic Islands. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., many people visited the Pati de Dones hall to donate blood and help strengthen supplies during a particularly important time of year.

The Vice President of the Consell de Mallorca and Minister of Culture and Heritage, Antònia Roca, highlighted the success of the initiative, connecting it with this year’s Christmas slogan: “a very Mallorcan Christmas is also a Christmas of solidarity.” She expressed pride in seeing how the cultural centre has become a place where culture and generosity go hand in hand in the days leading up to the holidays.

Strong Community Turnout at La Misericòrdia’s Blood Donation Event

Roca thanked everyone who participated and encouraged residents to continue enjoying the Christmas activities scheduled at the Misericòrdia: “It is a pleasure to see such generosity from our community; we invite you to continue experiencing the Christmas spirit and to join the activities we have prepared.”

Throughout these days, the cultural centre remains a meeting point for the activities organised by the Consell de Mallorca. This weekend, its garden hosts the Fira Artesana, bringing together local artisans offering handmade and traditional products. The fair will be open until Sunday, December 21, and will also feature musical performances for all ages.
