President Llorenç Galmés and the second vice-president and Minister for Environment, Rural Affairs and Sports, Pedro Bestard, welcomed Jordi Horrach, president of the Football Federation of the Balearic Islands (FFIB), to mark the federation’s centenary and present the upcoming Spanish Futsal Super Cup, which will take place on 3 and 4 January at Son Moix, with Iles Balears Palma Futsal hosting the event.
Galmés congratulated the FFIB on its centenary, highlighting that “a hundred years represent an extraordinary milestone, shaped by tireless dedication to a sport that has united generations and crossed borders.”
He also emphasised that “football, as a mass sport, has overcome challenges and strengthened values such as passion, unity and teamwork.”

Mallorca announces the Spanish Futsal Super Cup to be played in Son Moix
The president praised Palma Futsal’s achievements: “three European Cups and three Intercontinental titles have placed Mallorca on the world map of futsal, a historic achievement never before reached by a team in this discipline.”
Bestard added that the Super Cup “brings the very best national futsal to the island, making it an honour for Mallorca and Son Moix to host the event”.
He also underlined the club’s social commitment: “their work goes beyond the court, with educational programmes, school visits and value-based initiatives that make them a reference in youth sports.”
The event will include additional sports and family activities throughout the two days of competition.
