The Autonomous Community has accepted the bequest made by Jaume Serra Barceló, consisting of the books from his personal library, which will now become part of the Archive of the Kingdom of Mallorca (ARM). The collection, valued at €3,500, will be incorporated into the institution’s auxiliary library.
Serra Barceló formalised the donation through a notarial will in which he designated the ARM as the beneficiary of his personal book collection. The donated works include history-related publications—his field as a secondary school teacher—as well as volumes on the history of Mallorca that he acquired over the years and used as references for his research, academic articles and books, many of them co-authored with Margalida Bernat Roca.ç

The Autonomous Community adds Jaume Serra’s personal library to the Archive of the Kingdom of Mallorca
The ARM considers this legacy especially valuable, as it enhances and complements its auxiliary library, which is specialised in history and archival sciences.
This auxiliary library is open to the public and provides researchers, professionals and general users with specialised bibliographical resources linked to the documentary holdings of the archive. Consultation is available on-site at the ARM, and part of the collection—excluding the oldest pamphlets—can also be accessed through the bibliographic catalogue of the University of the Balearic Islands.
