Sa Nostra Sala in Ibiza is hosting a new exhibition titled “Landscape Art in the Artistic Collection”, featuring 35 works from the institutional art collection that explore various interpretations of the island’s scenery. The exhibition highlights rural settings, coastal views and urban environments through the eyes of artists from different generations.

The works on display come from the Artistic Collection, which includes pieces acquired from local creators, donations from private collectors and artworks awarded in competitions such as the Vuit d’Agost Prizes, the Sant Miquel de Balansat Young Painting Prize and the Autumn Young Painting Prize. Twenty artists are represented in the exhibition, including Josep Marí, Antoni Pomar, Narcís Puget Riquer, Mario Stafforini, Erwin Broner and the renowned landscape painter José Manuel Chico Prats.

The Minister of Culture, Sara Ramon, emphasised the significance of this exhibition, noting that it offers residents and visitors the opportunity to rediscover the diversity of Ibiza’s landscapes and appreciate the island’s rich artistic heritage. She also highlighted that Sa Nostra Sala has hosted sixteen exhibitions throughout 2025, reinforcing its role as a key space for promoting local creativity.

The exhibition’s curator, Joan Albert Ribas, explained that selecting only 35 works was a challenge due to the extensive scope of the Artistic Collection. The intention, he noted, was to include representations of the city, rural areas and the sea—elements deeply rooted in Ibiza’s artistic tradition. Ribas also underscored the importance of the collection as a cultural tool that enables loans to other institutions on Ibiza and Formentera, thereby expanding public access to local art.

In recent years, several exhibitions have showcased different segments of this collection, and the medium-term goal is to move towards establishing a museum that can host a permanent display as well as monographic exhibitions dedicated to the island’s creative output.

The exhibition will remain open until 31 January 2026. In February, Sa Nostra Sala will temporarily close for renovation and facility upgrades.
