The Mallorca Maritime Museum has received an honourable mention at the 13th Ibermuseos Education Award, one of the most respected distinctions within the Ibero-American museum sector.

The award recognises the project “From the Sea to the Table: Traditional Recipes in Today’s Kitchens”, praised for its educational and cultural contribution and its focus on reviving gastronomic traditions linked to maritime heritage. The initiative strengthens ties with local communities while promoting sustainability, cultural identity and shared heritage values.

As a result of this recognition, the project has been included in the Ibermuseos Programme’s Good Practices in Education Repository, an international platform showcasing exemplary educational initiatives from museums across Ibero-America.

Mallorca Maritime Museum receives international recognition for its educational work

The Ibermuseos Education Award honours the most innovative and impactful museum education projects each year. In this edition, over 200 proposals from 17 countries were submitted, with only 20 projects selected for special distinction.

The Mallorca Maritime Museum has expressed its appreciation to the Ibermuseos Programme for this acknowledgement, which encourages the institution to continue advancing inclusive, participatory educational initiatives rooted in maritime heritage.
