The Museum of Menorca is hosting the exhibition #VullParticipar, an initiative promoted by the Menorca Foundation for People with Disabilities in collaboration with the Island Council. The project aims to raise public awareness about the right of people with functional diversity to make decisions and actively participate in society.

The exhibition is part of the island-wide programme linked to the International Day of Persons with Disabilities and highlights an ongoing challenge: the exclusion of people with disabilities from decisions that directly affect their lives. Through this project, the importance of self-determination and being heard is emphasised from a human rights perspective.

Menorca hosts the #VullParticipar exhibition on the rights of people with disabilities

The exhibition features 19 panels combining photographs and texts that depict everyday situations in which people with disabilities claim their right to participation. The themes include financial independence, inclusive education, access to culture, accessible public transport, freedom to choose a profession, and inclusion through artistic expression, such as dance.

Each panel showcases real individuals who use their voices and images to call for a future based on full and effective inclusion. Through slogans such as #AmbLaMevaVeu, #ElMeuCamí and #VullParticipar, the Foundation seeks to transform social perceptions of disability, moving away from protective approaches towards a rights-based model.

The exhibition is open to the public during the Museum of Menorca’s regular opening hours and will remain on display throughout the Christmas period, offering a space for reflection on inclusion and social participation.
